Quordle: How to play and win the word game that’s harder than Wordle

Quordle is a word game that challenges you to guess four five-letter words in nine tries. It’s similar to Wordle, but with a twist: you have to solve all four puzzles at the same time.

What is Quordle and how does it work?

Quordle is a word game that was created by Josh Wardle, a software engineer who also made Wordle. Quordle is now owned by Merriam-Webster, the online dictionary.

Quordle presents you with four squares, each containing five blank spaces. Your goal is to fill in the blanks with letters to form valid words. You can type any five-letter word and press enter to submit it. The game will then give you feedback on how close you are to the correct answers.

  • Letters that are in the right place and in the right word turn green.
  • Letters that are in the wrong place but in the right word turn yellow.
  • Letters that are not in any of the words turn gray.

The catch is that your guess applies to all four squares at once, so a letter might be green in one square, yellow in another, and gray in the rest. You have to use logic and deduction to figure out which letters belong where.

You have nine guesses to find all four words. If you succeed, you win the game and can share your score with others. If you fail, you can try again or see the answers.

How to play Quordle: tips and tricks

Quordle is harder than Wordle because you have more words to guess and less guesses to do it. You need a good strategy to increase your chances of winning.

Here are some tips and tricks to help you play Quordle:

  • Use a good starting word. A good starting word is one that has common letters and vowels, such as STARE, DOILY, or PUNCH. These words can help you eliminate or confirm many letters at once.
  • Use multiple starting words. One starting word might not be enough to crack the puzzle. You might want to use two or three starting words that cover different letters and vowels, such as STARE > DOILY > PUNCH.
  • Narrow down your options. If you have a partial word, such as -ATCH, try to guess a word that would eliminate or confirm many possibilities, such as CLAMP. This way, you can rule out or find out if the word is MATCH, BATCH, LATCH, CATCH, WATCH, HATCH, or PATCH.
  • Use the practice mode. Quordle has a practice mode where you can play without a time limit or a score. This is a great way to improve your skills and learn new words.
  • Check the dictionary. Quordle uses Merriam-Webster’s dictionary as its source of words. You can check the dictionary if you are unsure about a word or want to learn more about it.

Why Quordle is fun and challenging

Quordle is a fun and challenging word game that tests your vocabulary, spelling, logic, and deduction skills. It’s also a great way to learn new words and expand your knowledge.

Quordle has some features that make it more enjoyable and engaging than other word games:

  • It has a daily puzzle that resets at midnight in your timezone. You can compete with other players around the world and see how you rank on the leaderboard.
  • It has achievements that reward you for playing well, such as guessing a word in one try, solving a hard puzzle, or playing many times.
  • It has a daily sequence mode where you have to solve four puzzles in a row without seeing the answers. This adds an extra layer of difficulty and excitement.
  • It has a sleek and simple design that lets you focus on the game without distractions.

If you like Wordle, you will love Quordle. It’s a word game that will challenge your brain and tickle your curiosity.
