Reliance Jio, the leading telecom operator in India, has won all nine awards for mobile networks in the country, according to network testing firm Ookla. The awards include all categories for 5G networks, making Jio the most awarded network in India and the world.
Jio has emerged as the best mobile network, the fastest mobile network, the best mobile coverage, the top rated mobile network, the best mobile video experience, the best mobile gaming experience, the fastest 5G mobile network, the best 5G mobile video experience, and the best 5G mobile gaming experience.
Ookla, a division of Ziff Davis, is a global leader in internet testing and analysis. It provides data and insights on network performance and quality across fixed broadband, mobile, and streaming services.
Jio dominates 5G speed and performance metrics
Jio has also dominated the 5G speed and performance metrics, beating its rival Bharti Airtel by a huge margin. Jio scored 335.75 while Airtel scored 179.49 in the 5G mobile network metric. Jio 5G users enjoyed a median download speed of 416.55Mbps (vs Airtel’s 213.3Mbps), and a median upload speed of 21.20Mbps (vs Airtel’s 19.83).
Jio 5G users clocked the highest download and upload speed of 432.97Mbps and 19.12Mbps, respectively, in Mumbai. Airtel 5G users clocked the highest download speed of 269.63Mbps in Mumbai and the highest upload speed of 30.83Mbps in Bengaluru.
The data is based on Ookla’s Speedtest Intelligence platform, which collects millions of tests every day from real users across India.

Jio and Airtel both aim to complete their 5G network rollouts soon. Both telcos have claimed to achieve a milestone of 50 million 5G users within a year of launching their fifth-generation mobile networks. Third-ranked Vodafone Idea is yet to announce any plans for its 5G network launch.
