OnePlus 11 5G, the flagship smartphone from OnePlus, has started receiving the stable version of OxygenOS 14 in India. The update is based on Android 14 and brings several new features and enhancements to the device. OxygenOS 14 is the latest iteration of OnePlus’s customised Android skin that aims to offer a fluid and intuitive user experience.
OxygenOS 14: What’s New?
- Aquamorphic Design: OxygenOS 14 introduces a new design language called Aquamorphic, which is inspired by the natural elements of water and light. The design features a Fluid Cloud that shows all the up-to-date information at a glance, such as weather, notifications, and battery status. The design also includes aquamorphic-themed ringtones and revamped system notification sounds.
- File Dock and Smart Cutout: OxygenOS 14 adds a new feature called File Dock that allows users to drag and drop content between apps and devices. For example, users can easily share photos, videos, or documents from their phone to their laptop or vice versa. Another feature is Smart Cutout, which can separate multiple subjects in a photo from the background for copying or sharing. Users can also extract text and images from the screen using the Content Extraction feature.
- Shelf and Permission Management: OxygenOS 14 improves the Shelf feature by adding more widget recommendations and optimising the layout. Shelf is a personalised space that can be accessed by swiping right from the home screen. It shows users their frequently used apps, contacts, and shortcuts. OxygenOS 14 also optimises the photo and video-related permission management to prevent apps from misusing permissions for media access.
- Go Green AOD and Carbon Tracking: OxygenOS 14 includes a carbon tracking Always-On Display (AOD) that indicates how more steps can lead to less carbon emissions. The AOD shows users how much carbon they have saved by walking instead of driving or taking public transport. The update also adds a Go Green AOD theme that features a green leaf that grows as the battery level increases.
